3 Golds + a Silver

MSP COMMUNICATIONS
Tilka Design collaborated with MSP Communications to create buzz for Delta Air Lines new in-flight publication: Sky. This high-energy, lifestyle magazine turns the tables on traditional in-flight reading by offering world-class style and content.

Tilka Design created a saucy family of media-kit
materials that utilized a patent-leather-like red paper to capture the energetic character of the publication and reinforced Delta’s brand color. Nine issues later, the resulting ad sales are impressive. The media kit was honored by the Minnesota Magazine & Publications Association (MMPA) with a GOLD award.

GOLD: BEST MEDIA KIT
The media kit is three part: 1) a folder/holder that showcases the front of the magazine with a see-through cover and slit to hold the guidebook, 2) the 24-page media buyers guidebook, complete with all the stats needed to make informed media purchasing decisions, and 3) an inside pocket for inserts on special sections and rate cards.

AIA MINNESOTA
Since 2005, Tilka Design has worked with the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Minnesota to design and produce Architecture Minnesota magazine. In the first year of the redesign, the MMPA bestowed a GOLD award for overall excellence (a first for the publication). Every year since, the MMPA has recognized the magazine for excellence. This year was no different. The 2009 awards include:

SILVER: OVERALL EXCELLENCE,
Sept/Oct 08, Mar/Apr 09, May/June 09

An award recognizing the entire issue.

GOLD: BEST TABLE OF CONTENTS, Sept/Oct 2008
An important information graphic to any publication, Architecture Minnesota's 2-page spread Table of Contents stands out and offers a wider glimpse into the contents of the issue.

GOLD: BEST TECHNICAL ARTICLE, The Great Convergence
Our research and analysis revealed that Architecture Minnesota needed to engage a broader, public audience as well as AIA members—especially when communicating technical content such as this article.

Three golds and a silver...imagine the endorsements if we were in the Olympics!
